What is Diamond Shaped Steel Sheet?

Steel diamond plate, also called diamond shaped steel sheet, is a carbon steel that has a diamond pattern or texture on one side and is smooth and flat on the other side.

The diamond pattern creates friction and prevents slipperiness.

Stairs, walkways, ramps, high-traffic areas: Usually in fire exits, where moisture can make surfaces slick. It ıs also used to reduce slip risks.

Trailers, trucks, and ambulances: It can be used on truck beds and trialers for decoration but is used inside ambulances to prevent slipperiness.

Aesthetics: Usually used as a finish in architectural elements and buildings because of its unique and shaped appearance.

Matadero Madrid (Madrid, Spain)

Matadero Madrid is a former slaughterhouse compound built in the early twentieth century in Madrid. This facility was used as a place for killing animals and storing them with hooks hanging from the ceiling afterwards.

In 2006 Madrid's city hall organized an International Competition to restore two of the buildings of the old Slaughter House of Madrid. Their main goal was to recover the old memory of this traditional place in the city of Madrid.

In 2011, it was transformed, in a number of phases, into a multi-disciplinary cultural centre. It is now a contemporary arts centre.
