SLATE
Slate is a natural stone (metamorphic stone) that forms as a result of volcanic eruptions. As the sediment pile thickened, the original open structure of the mud was compressed into a mudstone or shale. After the slate stone is extracted from the mountain, it does not go through a production process because it is a pure-unicomponent material, but it is shaped according to it's usage and sent to it's destination. Slate stone is a very strong material so it doesn't get damage easily that's why people chose slate because its a long lasting material and it's cost is not high.
Slate's colour is mainly affected by how much iron it contains, however it is often a greyish colour. It's used for cladding, flooring and roofing. It can easily be broken into neat, thin sheet, that means it's production is easy. Slate stone does not absorb water, only like 1%, so it is a great choise for roofing and cladding.
